Can we use plain old American sweets/yams? I have never seen a Japanese sweet ‘tater in any of our locals🤷🏻‍♀️(this is the first time I have heard of them, and I found you through Jenna, so don’t be harsh🙋🏻‍♀️) thank you for your attention to this matter😄🇺🇸

Hi Carol! Yes, you can definitely use a regular orange American sweet potato/yam. I first found out about using sweet potatoes in dessert recipes from the cookbook author Dreena Burton. She uses a regular orange sweet potato in this tasty cake recipe: https://dreenaburton.com/sweet-potato-chocolate-cake/. When I made her frosting, I thought about how it kind of tasted like a pudding, so then I tried to make my own pudding recipe. You could put almond butter or peanut butter in the pudding recipe to make it richer, or you could do a vanilla pudding with pumpkin pie spice, which could match well with the orange sweet potato. If you do make the pudding, I'd love to hear if it turns out well. I hope it does! Thank you for looking at my Substack!

Good for you. Keep on keeping on. I know it’s frustrating when one’s substack doesn’t go viral but maybe this time!

Thanks for all you’ve done to support MAHA

Oh yes, chocolate avocado mousse is a great healthy dessert, and it's such a good one for kids! Do you ever use chickpeas in your desserts? There are some good cookie recipes made with chickpeas -- also a nice way to get some healthy foods into kids :)

I hope that it turns out well, Bridget! If you run into any issues with the recipe, let me know, and I'll try to problem solve them! I'm not a professional recipe developer, so there's always room for improvement on my end :)
